Chapter 9: September

SEPTEMBER 01

“At the end of your life, you are going to want to know that you made some kind of difference.”

—Susan Sarandon, actress

PUT THEM IN THE KNOW

Assumptions can get you into trouble. Like assuming that employees know they are making a difference without you telling them. The truth is, they probably don’t know. And they most likely won’t. Until you tell them. And they shouldn’t have to wait until the end of their work lives to hear it. The sooner you tell them, the better.

Today, find someone making a difference where you work and let her know how her work is contributing to the success of your department.
