Summary

The fact that you have made it to the end of the chapter is worth a pat on the back. This was the most complicated chapter so far, both in topic and in sheer volume. Building Access applications in many ways can be quite complex. I hope you have also realized just how powerful Access can be as a development tool and how using it to implement some really slick features is easier than you thought.

At this point, you should have a much better understanding of the concepts presented in earlier chapters, especially the more complicated ones. Having a practical example is always useful. Just to make sure you get the full value out of the hard-earned money you spent on this book, I’m also including a second case study that deals with SQL Server so that you can get some experience with Access projects and SQL Server itself. Although the second case study uses SQL Server as the database, you can learn much that you can apply to other databases as well. Even if you are not a SQL Server database user, you will still solidify your understanding of the many programming concepts you’ve explored throughout the book.
