9.8. IDENTIFY POTENTIAL SUPER CHAMPIONS
Within the Metrics Coordination Group there will be what I call potential "super champions." A super champion is a person who not only lends his or her name to an initiative but who wholeheartedly adopts that initiative, becomes part of it and starts to drive it forward down new routes. Such individuals are worth their weight in gold as they become, not merely centers of expertise and enthusiasm, but centers of excellence. The real beauty of it is that they are always owners of the process that is being changed and that they are doing the changing!
Both through the Metrics Coordination Group and through other interactions with the organization as a whole, you will become aware of potential super champions. It is up to you to cultivate these people to ensure that their potential is realized.
