For the bass, a nice simple eighth note shuffle on the root note of each blues scale is really all that's needed. You can of course improvise on this, as would a real player. Keeping it simple though, for now at least, will help establish a clear harmonic structure.

Follow these steps:

1. Record the bass (Figure P7.5). (Note the transposition, 12.) Even though the notes are written straight, play them with a triplet feel. Record it in sections maybe (Figures P7.6 and P7.7). Again how you break it down is up to you. It is not too difficult to play in one pass, except maybe for the last bar, which can be done separately. Have a go!
