Tiger is an amazingly powerful operating system that gives you the tools to do your job as a designer effectively. Whether it's organizing your client projects, fine-tuning color management, communicating with other computers on your network, or keeping your files safe, Apple's efforts are at your disposal. That power and flexibility, however, come at a price: complexity.

As a whole, Tiger's feature list can be overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be. Keep this book close at hand and let it walk you through the features you aren't familiar with or comfortable working through on your own. If you need more help, that's OK, too. Some projects or problems need the expertise of specially trained professionals, like your IT department or favorite Mac consultant.

No matter what the project, or if you work freelance or for an agency, use your Mac and Tiger for the resources they are. Your Mac should be a tool to help you express your creativity, not something that slows you down while you hunt for menus or get lost in mile-long lists of steps.
