Sharing Information

Networks today are very interconnected. The Web and the Internet leveraged the connectivity of networks to elevate information sharing to a new level. The global use of the HTTP protocol coupled with URL identity simplified content access, and in the process, distributed content sharing.

Your personal portal must permit content sharing. However, the approach of using a content space will be different than just a central repository. It will be akin to a content-addressable network. Content will be indexed in the space, and not necessarily require migration or transfer to a central personal repository. Using JavaSpaces, HTTP, and Web server technology makes this a simple and viable alternative.
