Summary

PivotTables and PivotCharts are especially useful when you are designing an application for users who like to tinker with their data and examine it from different perspectives. Instead of preparing static forms and reports to let the user look at the same data in different ways, you can just create an all-inclusive query with appropriate calculated fields, create one PivotTable and one PivotChart based on the query, and let the user tinker with it as needed, to view the data in all sorts of different ways.

In the next chapter, I’ll describe how to create reports to display and print your data.
