The Center for National Response, located at the West Virginia Memorial Tunnel, is a U.S. DOD facility that provides a training space for first responders. The two-lane, 2,800-foot-long highway tunnel comprises more than 79,000 square feet of training space. The tunnel provides a realistic environment where emergency teams can practice techniques designed to mitigate the effects of a weapons of mass destruction incident in an underground space.
