As always, many, many people's efforts went into bringing this edition to print. The credits for a book should be like movie credits, rolling on for several minutes.
Whitney Walker stepped in as editor and carefully handled all the behind-the-scenes coordination the author is grateful to have never seen. Scott M. Neal did an excellent job of checking the technical accuracy of the author's wild and unsubstantiated claimsany remaining technical errors are all the author's fault. Elissa Rabellino once again managed to save the English language from complete geekification, and Ernie Prabhakar once again put up with and actually answered piles of questions, only rarely saying, "That's a feature, not a bug."
Cliff Colby at Peachpit gets the credit and blame for talking the author into doing this again. Thanks to Myrna Vladic and Jerry Ballew for making the finished product look so good, and to Rebecca Plunkett for compiling a thorough index.
Loren Rosen, Paul Bissex, Pete Hanson, John Brewer, John F. Whitehead, and the rest of the gang at the WELL once again provided comments, ideas, questions, and inspiration: aurum, barrett, bbear, betsys, biscuit, bslesins, bubbles , cactus, cascio, chet, combs, davgam, dblan, dmd, gail, howard, hrh, jacob, jal, jax, jbrewer, jef, jeffreyp, jfw, karish, loren-rosen, agnus, marvy, mattrose, mcb, mnemonic, mpk, mtrbike, mz, nickw, pac, realfun, rtswimm, satyr, siino, spackard, sungja, tenney, the-voidmstr, tux, wolfy, and ymike.
