Moving through a Flash Timeline while in authoring mode is most commonly done by using your mouse to jump to a particular point or scrub across frames. Of course, you can also press ENTER at any time while the Timeline is active and it will begin to play through. Both of these methods are great, but if you want to slowly step through the Timeline frame-by-frame, you might be at a loss for how to do so. Feel lost no more, my friend. You may think that using your arrow keys would do the trick, but no, those are for nudging objects on the Stage. To quickly step through the Timeline one frame at a time, use the "," and "." keys on your keyboard. The "," key moves left and the "." key moves right. An easier way to remember these guys is to think of them as "<" and ">" instead of "," and "." because it makes more sense visually. Just remember that you don't have to hold SHIFT for this to work.
