Your OpenVMS system may be running a TCP/IP networking product. If so, you may take advantage of common TCP/IP utilities and functions such as FTP, Telnet, SSH, rlogin, SCP, RSH, and more.
Your OpenVMS system may be running one of three popular TCP/IP products, or one of several more obscure ones. The availability and usage of TCP/IP functions differs somewhat from product to product. Your system manager will be able to provide usage instructions for your particular product.
In addition to the normal TCP/IP utilities, you may be able to take advantage of the DIRECTORY/FTP and COPY/FTP commands. These commands perform DIRECTORY and COPY operations on a remote system via FTP without the need to use a dedicated FTP client program. See HELP COPY and HELP DIRECTORY for information on their use.
