Web Services

There is a common misconception that web services are a competitive alternative to writing Enterprise JavaBeans components and that they should be used in lieu of Enterprise JavaBeans components to develop enterprise systems. This can, in fact, be an incorrect judgment, and in this section we will walk through one of the main motivations for the creation of web services, how they evolved, what problems they solve, and more importantly, how they complement Enterprise JavaBeans components to provide integration and interoperability between systems.
