Entering People Resources

To Open Resource Sheet View: Select View To Enter a People Resource: Click in the Resource Name field and enter a name for the resource. Click in the Max. Units field and enter the resource's availability to the project, and then click in the Std. Rate field and enter the pay rate for the resource.

Entering Equipment Resources

To Enter an Equipment Resource: Click in the Resource Name field and enter a name for the resource. Click in the Max. Units field and enter the resource's availability to the project, and then click in the Std. Rate field and enter the cost of the resource.

Entering Material Resources

To Enter a Material Resource: Click in the Resource Name field and enter a name for the resource. Click the Type field list arrow and select Material from the list. Click in the Material Label field and enter the material resource's unit of measurement, and then click in the Std. Rate field and enter the rate for the resource.

Adjusting Individual Resource Working Schedules

To Adjust an Individual Resource Working Schedule: Select the resource and select Project Resource Information button on the Standard toolbar, or press Shift + F2. Edit the working time for the resource in the dialog box.

Using Resource Notes

To Enter a Resource Note: Click the Resource Notes button on the Standard toolbar, or right-click the resource and select Resource Notes.

Assigning Resources to Tasks

To Assign Resources: Make sure you are in Gantt Chart view, and then select a task and click the Assign Resources button on the Standard toolbar. Select the resource you want to assign from the Resource List in the dialog box and click the Assign button. Click the Close button to close the dialog box.

Assigning Additional Resources to Tasks

To Assign Multiple Resources: Select the task and click the Assign Resources button on the Standard toolbar. Select the resources you want to assign from the Resource List in the dialog box and click the Assign button. Click the Close button to close the dialog box.

To Assign Additional Resources: Select the task to which you want to add a resource, and click the Assign Resources button on the Standard toolbar. Select the resource you want to add to the assignment, click the Assign button, and click the Close button when you're finished.

Assigning Material Resources to Tasks

To Assign a Material Resource: Select a task and click the Assign Resources button. Select the material resource(s) for the task and enter how many units of each resource you need. Click the Assign button and click Close.
