Note: Although the Healing Brush will work on a blank layer (with the Sample All Layers option), the Patch tool doesn'tthat's why duplicating the image layer works best for both tools. |

| A2: | This is one of those questions that people often preface with "is there a quick way to " and in this case the answer definitely is no, it won't be quick. This just takes some effortand timewith the Clone Stamp tool (S), the Healing Brush, and possibly making a selection that you copy to "cover up" the problem. Some things to consider: Is the glare on both lenses or only one? (If it's only on one, you may be able to copy and "flip" the good lensor part of it and transform it to fit using Edit>Free Transform.) Use as high of a resolution as possible so you can zoom in close to see what you're doing. You can always lower the resolution later. When you use the Clone Stamp tool, change the Mode pop-up menu in the Options Bar to Lighten to affect only the light areas of the glare. |

| A3: | The Patch tool does a great job with tears, because you can use another part of the image to "cover up" the tear while preserving the surrounding texture as much as possible. | A4: | One simple technique is to press Command-J (PC: Control-J) to duplicate the Background layer, and then change the layer blend mode to Multiply. That should make the faded color a little darker . Then press Command-J (PC: Control-J) again to duplicateperhaps even three or four more timesto continue to darken the colors. When you're happy, flatten the image (Layer>Flatten Image). Note: You can also make a feathered selection of any area that is particularly faded and use the same technique with just that area. |

| A5: | First, make sure the document is in RGB Color mode (Image>Mode). Then make a selection of the first area you want to colorize using any selection tool, and from the Create New Adjustment Layer pop-up menu in the Layers palette, add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. Turn on the Colorize checkbox and move the Hue slider to change the color. If you need to adjust the affected area, paint with black or white on the layer mask. Repeat this operation for each area you want to colorize (you may want to name each adjustment layer to help you keep track of each area you're colorizing). Be patientdepending on your image, this will take some time to complete. |

Try changing the tool's Mode in the Options Barfor example choose Lighten if you're trying to clone over dark telephone wires on a light-colored sky. For larger areas such as buildings , make a selection with a slightly feathered edge, press V to switch to the Move tool, hold down Option (PC: Alt), and click-and-drag the selection to copy it. Then you can apply Edit>Free Transform if necessary. |

| A7: | Make a selection around the teeth using any selection tool, but add a slight amount of feathering (Select>Feather). Then, from the Create New Adjustment Layer pop-up menu, add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. In the dialog change the Edit menu to Yellows (to edit only the yellow areas). Drag the Saturation slider to the left to lower the saturation of the yellow in the teeth. Then change the Edit menu back to Master and drag the Lightness slider slightly to the right to do some overall brightening. |
