Dirk Balfanz joined the Palo Alto Research Center (formerly Xerox PARC) in 2001 after receiving his Ph.D. from Princeton University for work on distributed systems security. Dirk is interested in end-to-end security, which means the correct interplay of human factors, systems security, and cryptography in distributed systems such as the Internet. Glenn Durfee is a member of the computer and network security research group at the Palo Alto Research Center. His interests range from mathematical cryptography to the development, implementation, and deployment of next-generation security systems. Currently he has been especially interested in security for wireless and mobile devices. Glenn received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2002, and has since worked at the Palo Alto Research Center.
