Solidify Support

If a company takes the foregoing advice, it will gradually solidify support from employees. Respect for managers will increase; managers too will respect the owners or heads of the company, and that will trickle down through the ranks.

How do leaders know if this support has been achieved? It is obvious, almost palpable, in the way employees come more enthusiastically to the office, work hard during the day, casually get together and talk about positives rather than negatives, try to take on whatever assignments they can for the good of the company, pull together, not blame anyone, and know that all is being done to improve the bottom line.

Casual conversations, formal conversations, questionnaires, focus groups, and surveys can be taken periodically to ask employees what they think about what’s going on, what more they want done, and what they want to see less of. Have a point-person at the company who handles these data and walks the hallways too so that people know who to go to if questions or problems arise.
