I am trying to browse to an ASP.NET page on an IIS6 server, and I know it exists. However, when I browse to it, I receive a 404 error saying that file is not found.
IIS 6 prohibits ASP.NET pages by default. To allow ASP.NET pages to run, follow these steps:
On the Web server, double-click on Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager in Administrative Tools.
Click the plus sign if necessary to expand the node for the computer name of the Web server.
Click once on the Web Service Extensions folder.
Click once on ASP.NET in the right-hand pane and click the Allow button as shown in Figure 34.11.
