Selecting a Large Worksheet Print Area

You don't always have to print an entire worksheet; instead, you can easily tell Excel what part of the worksheet you want to print by selecting the print area yourself. If the area you select is too large to fit on one page, no problem; Excel breaks it into multiple pages. When you do not select a print area yourself, Excel prints either the entire worksheet or the entire workbook, depending on the options set in the Print dialog box.

To select a print area, follow these steps:

  1. Click the upper-left cell of the range you want to print.

  2. Drag downward and to the right until the range you want is selected.

  3. Select the File menu, point at Print Area , and then select Set Print Area .

To remove the print area so you can print the entire worksheet again, select the File menu, select Print Area , and select Clear Print Area .
