By now, you should be comfortable with putting your data into Access tables. You know how to create a table and how to work with the data directly in a table. You've seen, too, how you can use relationships to tell Access how the data in more than one table is linked together.

But tables and relationships are just the first steps in building a truly useful Access database. You can think of these objects as the foundation of your database. They're essential, and you have to put them in place before anything else. But after the foundation is in place, you can build atop it. In this chapter, you'll start building the superstructure of your Access database to make it easier to use and more attractive. The first step in this construction process is to build queries.
