HOW TO USE THIS BOOK

This book is organized into 10 chapters, covering email and spam; making the Internet connection; wireless technology; web hosting, design, and blogging; browsers; AOL; instant messaging; searching; security; and online shopping. Each chapter is subdivided into different sections. For example, in the email chapter, you'll find sections devoted to general email annoyances, spam, Outlook and Outlook Express, Gmail, and Eudora. (AOL has more than its share of annoyances, which is why we've set aside an entire chapter for it.)

Don't expect to read this book straight through from cover to cover. It's best to jump around, first solving those annoyances that annoy you the most, then discovering other annoyances you can head off at the pass.
