P/A, which is now part of LexisNexis, doles out helpful nuggets of knowledge for anyone who needs research material on the double. What’s more, they’ve integrated their research and media pieces to create a service that lets you search for an individual journalist’s articles on a particular topic, articles about selected companies, and all the research material they can muster to support your search. There’s also The Scoop, a webzine that gives an insider’s look at new magazine sections; alerts about those that have shut down; and cool, original articles and columns about everything from lifestyle news to media movers and shakers.

You can use the search engine for free, but if you want to view an article, that’ll cost a few bucks. To get on and use the service, you have to work out an annual contract with LexisNexis, based on your assumed usage time (call them at 617-542-6670, ext. 402). It can get expensive, so make sure you log off whenever you’re through.
