Summary

Regardless of an organization's size , process improvement must use a structured approach to be successful. The CMMI includes more information and more areas that promote the development of high-quality systems. However, professional judgment in determining how to implement the model must be used.

It can also be said that the CMM is always right for an organization; the CMMI is always right for an organization; SCAMPI/SCE/CBA-IPI is always right for an organization. What is not right for an organization is basing contract awards or contract bid opportunities solely on assessment results.
