Chapter 17. Maintaining the GroupWise System

If you have implemented a good system design (discussed in Chapter 19, "Building Your GroupWise System Correctly"), regular maintenance of your GroupWise system can be automated. Through automation, it is possible to reduce the amount of time you spend functioning as an administrator.

If your users access the post office in client/server access mode, and you implement a few appropriately scheduled events, your chances of losing data due to information-store damage are minimized. This chapter covers the maintenance of the GroupWise information store and the GroupWise directory and walks you through the creation of some appropriate events to schedule.
