Chapter 2. ebXML in a Nutshell

For ebXML to meet the business needs and conditions described in Chapter 1, "There's No Business Like E-Business," it had to spell out a series of requirements to directly address those needs and conditions, and then build the actual technical specifications keyed to these requirements. In this chapter, we outline both ebXML's requirements and technology, combined as the basis of understanding for a more technically detailed treatment of these topics in Chapter 6, "Business Requirements for ebXML," and Chapter 8, "ebXML Technical Architecture."
