Project 3 Overview

In this project, you'll create a Recruitment System application for Smart Stores, a fictitious retail chain company with numerous stores across the United States. There are regional offices handling sales and logistics. Employee turnover is high, and the HR department needs an application that different offices can use to distribute the workload.

The Recruitment System application will enable authorized users to perform the following tasks:

• View applicant records from any office.

• Add, edit, and delete applicant records.

• Search a particular applicant's record based on a criterion such as the number of years of experience or qualifications.

• Use multiple search criteria.

The Recruitment System application is a Web-based application that's supported on a ColdFusion MX server. This application uses a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database for all data interactions. This application also demonstrates how to search for data based on criteria specified. The key points that are covered while creating the Recruitment System application are as follows:

• Adding data to a specified database

• Retrieving and displaying data

• Deleting and updating data

• Searching specific records in a database

• Database-specific error trapping
