Troubleshooting Agents

When something goes wrong with an agent (the agent is suspect), you can right-click the agent and select Error Details to view the error. You can also click on Agent History to view a chronological error log for the agent.

When you first create publications on the server, you may receive the following error message:

The Agent is suspect.

This means that the value of the inactivity threshold may be too small. To increase this value, you must perform the following steps:

  1. In Enterprise Manager, right-click on the Replication Monitor group and select Refresh Rate And Settings.

  2. Increase the Inactivity Threshold setting to a more adequate setting for your server. Experiment to find the best setting for your server.

  3. Resolve any issues and try to resynchronize.
