ASP is a powerful way to bridge the gap between client-side presentation logic and server-side business logic in the three-tier Internet application. With IIS 4.0, ASP is fully integrated with MTS. MTS provides process, thread, and other resource management services to IIS and ASP applications. Pages in an ASP application can be marked as transactional, giving each page all the benefits of transactions discussed in Chapter 4. We will look at ASP again in Chapter 11 when we discuss building the presentation layer of a distributed application.
