Conventions

Here are some conventions that I use throughout to help you use this book more efficiently:

  • Italics indicate a new term that I’m defining, represent placeholder text (especially when used in code), or add emphasis.

  • Bold text indicates something that you should type.

  • A special monofont typeface is used throughout the book to indicate code, a filename or pathname, or an Internet address.
