TextEdit: SAVING FILES AS WORD DOCUMENTS

If you love TextEdit, but routinely send text files to people on other platforms who don't have TextEdit, but surely have Microsoft Word, you can make things easy for them by saving your TextEdit files in Word format so they can easily read them. Here's how: When you go to save your file in the Save As dialog, the default saves your file in Rich Text Format (RTF), but if you click-and-hold on the File Format pop-up menu, you'll see that you can also save the file in Word Format. Choose that, and your worries are over. (Well, you'll still have worries, just not about how other people will open your text files.)
