ACCIDENTALLY LAUNCHED A PROGRAM? UN-LAUNCH IT

Because it takes only one click to launch a program from the Dock, you're just one click away from launching the wrong application (sadly, I do this all the timewhen I mean to click on one application, I accidentally click the Dock icon to the right or left of it). If you do launch a program you wish you hadn't, immediately click-and-hold on its Dock icon and a menu will appear where you can choose Force Quit. This stops the launch dead in its tracks.
