Summary

This chapter covered high-risk registry entries. High-risk registry entries are registry keys and values more likely to be used my malicious attackers and malware than by legitimate users for legitimate reasons. Each registry key has 11 different registry permissions that can be set on each key. Windows XP Pro and later have pretty good registry security, but a few areas could use additional hardening. Chapter 7 discusses how to harden Windows services against malicious compromise.
