The Vertical Type, Vertical Area Type, and Vertical Path Type tools work like their horizontal type cousins, except that text is presented vertically, usually from top to bottom.
For example, if you want to create vertical text, click the Vertical Type tool, click to create an insertion point on the artboard , and start typing. Text flows down vertically, as shown in Figure 10-16. After you adjust to the oddity ofa horizontal text I-beam insertion point, you can enter, paste, and edit text just as if it were presented horizontally.
You can reverse the orientation of existing text from horizontal to vertical (or vice versa) by selecting the type and then choosing Type Type Orientation and selecting either Horizontal or Vertical.
