Hardware Requirements

You wouldn t use a 1914 Ford Model T engine to pull a bus. Sure, using a bus to transport 50 people is more cost effective than having 50 people purchase 50 cars, but what s the purpose if the bus can t move? Thin-client/server computing offers a great deal of flexibility and savings on the client hardware and management

costs, but it relies heavily on a powerful server. In a thin-client/server computing model, the server becomes the veritable engine for all of your client machines. Although you ll save money by not having to purchase new workstations for everyone, you ll need to invest in a powerful server (the engine on the bus). But with proper planning, you ll come out ahead of the game.

You need a powerful server to run a multiuser environment.
