Conclusion

We have been discussing the GT3 toolkit, providing a reference implementation of OGSI and explaining the core concepts of a grid service and its behaviors through some rather simple examples. The main idea of this discussion was to introduce the toolkit core components and capabilities. This GT3 framework provides a rich enough environment to support a number of complex service creation scenarios. As we have noted, the Globus GT3 high-level services, such as index services, information services, and GRAM are all built upon this core GT3 framework.

In the next chapter, we will see more details on these high-level grid services.
