You should give some thought to how you want to control access to the content on your site. There are basically three categories of user in the PHP-Nuke world: anonymous, registered, and subscriber. An anonymous user, of course, is just someone who shows up. You have no idea who this is and have no way of finding out. A registered user is someone who provides you with a username, an e-mail address, a password, and possibly more. These users go through a confirmation process that PHP-Nuke handles automatically, ensuring that their e-mail address is valid and ensuring that you have a way to contact them. They can log into your site by using their username and password. A subscribed user is someone who's paid for access to your Web site. These users are also registered, and they have a username and password that they log in with. |
