Location Pattern Matching

Location pattern matching is a technology patented by U.S. Wireless Corporation (http://www.uswcorp.com) that can determine the location of CDMA devices based on patterns of radio frequency reflections. The technology works with existing handsets without requiring an upgrade. When a positioning fix is required, the mobile device radio signal's distinct frequency patterns and multipath characteristics are compared against a database of previously identified frequency "signatures" and their corresponding locations. This positioning method complies with the U.S. FCC's E911 initiative requiring network-based positioning methods to achieve 100-meter accuracy for 67 percent of calls and 300-meter accuracy for 95 percent of calls. The solution is cost-effective and does not require line of site triangulation, which can be difficult to achieve in dense urban areas where buildings block the line of sight.
