NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN

  1. Explain the main components of a network design process, such as prioritizing design goals; defining requirements for the conceptual, logical, and physical design views; and assessing any risks during the design phase.

  2. The physical network design diagram often includes such items as the physical communication structure of your environment and the total server layout on that network.

  3. The physical network design diagram can be defined further with the location and placement of network connectivity equipment, such as bridges, hubs, switches, modems, routers, and other network devices.

  4. When creating a network configuration diagram, you should document all name resolution services in use, including whether broadcast resolutions are intentionally used, on top of any WINS or DNS implementations ; you should also outline IP addressing methods in use and their configuration as well as any remote access connections into the network, whether dial-up or VPN.
