1:	When should you use the telnet command for remote logins? When should you use ssh?
2:	What is the difference between cd and lcd, pwd and !pwd, and ls and !ls?

Answers

A1:	You should use telnet only when ssh connection attempts are not answered by the remote system. When this is the case, you should consider asking the administrator of the remote system to add support for ssh.
A2:	In each case, the former command (cd, pwd, ls) operates on the local system in an ftp session, and the latter command (lcd, !pwd, !ls) operates on the remote system.

Activities

1. Try using either the ssh or telnet command to log in to another Linux or Unix system on the network on which you have an account.

2. Try using the smbclient command to access the public files on a nearby Windows system.
