This Ignite! book from Muska & Lipman will help you understand, use, and explore Digital Performer. Digital Performer is an award-winning audio and MIDI sequencing production system. Historically, Digital Performer has been a very intimidating package, with a complicated, confusing user interface. In this latest version, built specifically for Mac OS X, many changes have been made to simplify the user experience and increase the functionality of different tools.

Digital Performer 4.0 was released in April of 2003. Several months later, a free update became available, which upgraded to version 4.1. The differences between version 4.0 and 4.1 are minimal when it comes to the basic functionality of the program. Any differences in the basic procedures will be referenced in the book.

Obviously, no book can teach you everything there is to know about one topic. The goal of this book is to introduce you to the world of Digital Performer and teach you how to use many of the tools it offers.
