The easiest type of IPL is the unattended IPL. Set the key lock of the CPU front panel to Normal, sign on to the system console, and follow the steps described in Chapter 2, in the sections titled "Ending Subsystems" and "Power Down the System." An IPL will take time. It is not possible to predict how long, because a lot depends on how long ago you performed the last IPL, and whether any jobs or the system ended abnormally.
