Diagnostic Commands and Tools

Show commands are very useful in troubleshooting issues on the router side. Some of the most important commands are briefly discussed as follows:

• show version Displays the software version information on the router. This verifies whether you are running the supported version on IOS code on the router to support NM-CIDS.

• show running-config Provides the current configuration of the router. You can find out the NM-CIDS related information (for example, the interface configuration) from the output of the show running-config. For example, to find out the interface name of the NM_CIDS, execute show running-config | include IDS.

• show diag Provides the diagnostics information on the router about NM-CIDS.

• show controller or show interface Verifies the IDS interface.
