1. | What types of operator interface (Command-Line Interface, graphical interface, etc.) does CIM support? |

2. | How can a client determine precisely what commands a WBEM server supports? |

Answers
1. | None. CIM does not concern itself with the details of how the information is displayed to the operator. The role of CIM is to organise the information relating to a device or service in a coherent and structured manner and allow the WBEM client, working on behalf of the operator, access to it. This is completely independent of the way in which the retrieved information is displayed on the operator's screen. In some cases, for example when a program is configuring multiple devices, there may be neither operator nor screen. |
2. | By reading the instances of the CIM_ObjectManager, CIM_ObjectManagerCommunicationMechanism, and CIM_CIMXMLCommunicationMechanism classes as described above. However, if a WBEM server claims to be able to support a particular functional group then each should be tested to see whether a CIM_ERR_NOT_SUPPORTED exception is returned. |
