About the Authors | CCNA Practical Studies (Cisco Certification & Training)

Gary Heap, CCIE #6411, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Information Systems from Utah State University in 1998. He has worked for Novell, Lucent World-Wide Services (formerly International Network Services, INS), Sprint ESolutions, and Sprint Managed Network Services. Currently he is employed by Cornerstone Internetworking Solutions as a principal consultant. His responsibilities include the design, documentation, implementation, troubleshooting, and operational support of large-scale networks. Gary holds the following additional technical certifications: CCNP, CCNA, Master CNE, and MCSE.

Lynn Maynes, CCIE #6569, is a senior network engineer with Sprint Managed Network Services and is responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of large-scale networks worldwide. His network certifications include CCNP, CCNA, CCDA, Certified Internet Architect, Master CNE, and MCP. He has held technical positions with UPS, Novell, and most recently as a consultant for Sprint ESolutions, where he was involved in the design and optimization of a variety of large networks. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in international business from Westminster College in 1996.
