Cutting, Copying, and Pasting

In addition to the standard Windows and Mac keyboard shortcuts for Cut ( Windows [Ctrl]-[X], Mac [ z ]-[X]), Copy ( Windows [Ctrl]-[C], Mac [ z ]-[C]), and Paste ( Windows [Ctrl]-[V], Mac [ z ]-[V]), Photoshop offers further keyboard shortcuts on both platforms.

Paste the cut or copied item inside another selection

Select the destination for the Paste Into operation before you press this shortcut or choose Edit Paste Into.

Windows [Ctrl]-[Shift]-[C], Mac [ z ]-[Shift]-[C]

Create a merged copy of the visible layers in the selection
