Preparing to Install There are four recommended tasks to prepare your network for NetWare 6.5: -
Back up your data -
Update eDirectory (if necessary) -
Update eDirectory schema (if necessary) -
Update the Certificate Authority object in eDirectory Installing Upgrading -
NetWare 6.0 To upgrade to NetWare 6.5, choose one of these options: -
Perform an in-place upgrade by running INSTALL from the root of the NetWare 6.5 Operating System CD-ROM. -
Use the NetWare Server Consolidation Utility to transfer volumes , directories, users, printers, and printer agents from a source server to a previously installed NetWare 6.5 destination server. -
NetWare 5.1 To upgrade to NetWare 6.5, choose one of these options: -

Use the NetWare Server Consolidation Utility to transfer volumes, directories, users, printers, and printer agents from a source server to a previously installed NetWare 6.5 destination server. -
Use the NetWare Migration Wizard from a workstation to move server data only from an existing source server to a new NetWare 6.5 destination server. -
Any NetWare 5 or NetWare 4 To upgrade to NetWare 6.5, choose one of these options: -
