The Missing Link

The most common question ever asked by new Flash users is, "How do I add a link in Flash that will let me jump to a specific web page?" The answer has always involved explaining the getURL action and how its parameters work. This can be rather daunting for someone who could care less about why and is just focused on getting it done.

Select any button or movie clip instance on your Stage and go to the Behaviors Panel (SHIFT-F3). From the drop-down menu, go to Web and choose "Go to web page." Now choose your target frame and URL, and Flash will automatically add the code needed to your instance. This one isn't just for newbies because it can also be a great time-saver for you seasoned pros.
