After obtaining an M.Sc. in occupational psychology (from the University of Sheffield) and a Ph.D. in computer science (from the University of Birmingham), she joined UCL in 1990 to teach and research on design and evaluation of emerging technologies. Since 1997, her research has focused on user-centered approaches to security, privacy, and trust.
