Conventions Used in This Book

This books uses several typographical conventions to help the reader identify special elements in the text:

• Code listings and classes, methods , elements, and other parts of code appear in a monospace font.

• Placeholders in code appear in a monospace italic font.

• Italicized words indicate new terms and are sometimes used for emphasis.

Sidebars offer more insight into points discussed in the main text. In Shop Talks, the authors digress a bit by discussing their personal experiences with thorny development problems or describing unusual Workshop features in greater detail.
