So is .NET a swish or an airball? Unfortunately, too few applications are currently available to know for sure. Based on early indications, however, it has at least hit the rim. .NET's defense still needs some work, because it is vulnerable to the occasional steal (security issues), as are other Web services, and it faces stiff competition from other teams which took an early lead. But, because it is backed by the 7-foot, 300-pound giant Microsoft, you know it is at least going to make it into the playoffs, where it will be very difficult to beat.
