Zhuhai's transport system is well developed. Zhuhai port, a major port in southern China, has a 75-kilo- metre shore, which provides over 100 berths from 10,000 to 250,000 tonnes and has an annual throughput of 150 million tonnes. There are also about 100 berths of over 500 tonnes capacity in Jiouzhou, Xiangzhou, Qianshan, Wanshan, Jing'an and Doumen ports. Zhuhai airport, built according to international standards, covers four million square metres with a runway of 4,000 metres. It has over 30 domestic airlines and around 130 scheduled flights every week. The road network, extending in all directions, connects Zhuhai with the rest of the country.
